DESCRIPTION:
Discover a new Moimir Papalescu project under a typical Czech name Die alten Maschinen.
In contrast to the parallel development of the Magnetik, this band is more oriented towards electro, called by the band members 'Robo-pop'.
The virtual collaboration of the band (apart from Moimir, there is the indispensable Peter Van Krbetz - PVK, and also another hero of the 80s, Leon Stevenson, the drummer and the front man of the Canadian Extras) with the foreman of the legendary new-wave band Devo, Gerald Casale, has developed from the initial testing on the vinyl 'To Be Or Not' into a project which has produced the first official album. It will be called "Songs About Love And Machines" and will be released on 11 November, 2010 by the X Production label.
11th November the official X PRODUCTION release of a limited digipack edition with the cover art by Adolf Lachman. The CD will contain 15 essential tracks.
2 weeks later - on the 25th November a remix campaign starts. You can look forward to remixes from e.g. Roman Holy, MIDI LIDI, Filip Misek (Dikolson, ex-Khoiba), Tuzex (ex Scissorhands, the Sunshine bass player), Dusan Vozary (ex-Ocean), producers Ecson Waldes and Ondrash (Vibes), the Fished project ((David N Jahn), Amak (Night, ex-Sunshine), the legendary DJ Pavel Bidlo, the Tata bojs band, the heavy-metal band Insania, the electro-folk River, an English producer MatKore Pollard and others... the real rarity will be the remake by Sonja and Hank (Kill The Dandies!), who collaborate in this way with Moimir and PVK for the first time since The Nihilists split up.
The release will culminate on the Christmas Eve, 24th December, when another 15 regular tracks will be released as digital downloads. These 15 tracks are the second part of the SONGS ABOUT LOVE AND MACHINES project. Random selections of persons who will download the 2nd album will receive an exclusive Christmas present - a WIND-UP ROBOT.
